Erryn.io Is Now a Limited Company

A small business update: erryn.io is now operating as a limited company.

It’s just become that “time”. There is no dramatic rebrand, acquisition, mahogany boardroom or sudden requirement for me to start saying things like “strategic alignment”. It is mostly the sensible next step as the consultancy grows and the work becomes larger, longer-term and in some cases, considerably more involved. This has gone hand-in-hand with additional protections and insurance as I take on larger projects, where a small change can have a dramatic effect. Not that I don’t have faith in my work, more that I don’t have much faith in some others.

The day-to-day model remains the same. Clients still deal directly with me, from the first conversation and initial technical work through to implementation, troubleshooting and overall support.

However, becoming limited allows businesses a more appropriate structure for the sort of work I am increasingly taking on, particularly longer consultancy engagements, complex software development, security and compliance projects and cyber security support. It also allows me to fold in some select individuals into the business soon, so I can expand. I do not intend erryn.io to ever become a large company, just a small select group of highly talented individuals with my oversight.

It also puts a few more grown-up foundations underneath erryn.io as I continue developing the consultancy, releasing my own software and building out the services around it.

So, broadly speaking, nothing has changed. There is just slightly more paperwork.
